Post-Deportation-Monitoring

Too often supporters don’t know what happens during and after a deportation. Unfortunately violent assaults by security personnel and officials inside the plane are not unusual. Some persons face torture or imprisonment after their deportation, many are left on their own without any support and are stigmatized as deportees. Even if it won’t be always possible to prevent a deportation, we can document assaults during deportations and provide the best support that is possible at the destination: Getting welcomed at the airport, a sleeping place for the first days and a strong network for the upcoming time. Former deportees and supporters organize themselves in their countries of origin all over the world to support deported people. It is very useful before a deportation to think about what happens then and to get some contacts. You will find a current list of the Post-Deportation-Monitoring-Network here.
